The course
Junior Open Water is not a kids club with tanks. It is the real PADI Open Water certification with age-adapted depth limits and a slower, friendlier rhythm. Your child learns the same skills adult students learn, from an instructor trained to teach young divers.
We keep sessions short and positive. Skills happen in warm, shallow, glass-calm bays where the child can stand up if they want to. One instructor per child, always within arm's reach. Parents are welcome on the boat all day, and honestly, most end up doing the course too.
The limits are set by PADI and we hold them strictly: divers aged 10 and 11 stay above 12 metres and dive with a parent or a PADI professional. From 12 to 14 the limit is 18 metres with an adult. At 15 the certification upgrades to a full Open Water card with a simple form.
Skills
Before any skill list, we make sure the water feels like a playground, not a test. Games, fish spotting and easy wins on day one.
Mask clearing, regulator recovery, buoyancy, buddy checks. Same standards, explained in plain words with more repetition and more high-fives.
Kids learn rules faster than adults when the rules are clear. Check air, stay close, ask questions. We build habits they will keep for decades.
Certification dives happen on shallow, colorful Hurghada reefs full of anemonefish and butterflyfish. The best classroom a young diver could ask for.
Where this takes you next
The Junior card upgrades automatically at 15. Until then, we are happy to take the whole family diving.

Our 11-year-old did her Junior Open Water while my husband and I did our refresher. Her instructor was incredible with kids, so patient. She has not stopped talking about clownfish since. Totally trustworthy operation.

Esperienza bellissima.

Vår son tog sitt Junior Open Water här under sportlovet. Tålmodig instruktör, korta pass och mycket beröm. Han var trygg hela tiden och certifikatet gäller i hela världen. Rekommenderas varmt för familjer.

Good to know
From 10 years old with the PADI Junior Open Water course. Ages 10-11 are limited to 12 m and dive with a parent, guardian or PADI professional. Ages 12-14 may dive to 18 m with a certified adult.
Yes. Same skills, same theory, same card. Only the depth limits and supervision rules differ, and those relax automatically as your child gets older. At 15 it converts to a regular Open Water certification.
One instructor per child, shallow protected bays for every skill session, short sessions with breaks, and strict PADI junior depth limits. A parent is welcome on the boat and, if certified, in the water too.
Never. The pace is set by the child, not a schedule. Some kids need an extra day of shallow practice, and that is fine. If diving turns out not to be their thing, we stop, no drama.
Yes, and it is our favourite setup. We run the adult Open Water in parallel with a second instructor, and the family does the final certification dives together on the same reef.
The water is 28°C, the visibility is over 30 m, and a boat with your name on it leaves tomorrow at 8 AM.
